I just got done evaluating the new S&W 686SSR L-frame revolver. This has got to be one of the best roundguns to come out of Springfield in years. They advertise the trigger pull as being 20% lighter than standard guns - and they're right. The DA pull was a dream and the SA was like "...a glass rod breaking." The special grips were nice too, almost forcing you to take a very hold hold on the gun.
Accuracy was superb with a number of five shot, one inch groups from a rest at 25 yards. I was impressed all to h*ll!
And yes "SSR" means "Stock Service Revovler." S&W designed this specifically for IDPA shooters. It is the first of a series of handguns they will build specifically for action pistol shooting.
