I love my Ruger DA revolvers, and have several of the Six Series-GP revolvers, but have yet to venture into the Ruger SA world.....

I was looking to pick up a 7.5" barrel Blackhawk in .357 and get some Pachmayr grips, and use it as a dedicated 25 yard slow fire target revolver.....I assume they are as accurate or more so than the DA revolvers.

Before I start looking, any advice on the overall shootability of the Ruger SA's? Or should I start saving for something like a USFA adjustable sight OmniPotent for my "long barreled SA target revolver"?

My Ruger SAs shoot fine. For the purpose, you need to have a competent 'smith work over the action and get the trigger both smoothed up and lightened. And I'd want a wider, smooth blade. Accuracy should be fine.

I shoot my Ruger Super Blackhawk with a 10 1/2" barrel in .44 mag at 50 yards with no problems as long as I do my part.
