I ran across this at Dallas Arms Collectors show, marked REP. DOM. 1961, looks new, 29" bbl.
1300 serial # range. I was told that is is 1908 Brazilian reworked in 1960s.....? What exactly is it? How many made? Value? It does have what appears to be old detachable rear sling
swivel as on early Gew 98s, but a lot of the parts look much newer and machining does not
appear to match DWM quality atandards.

It's a Brazilian model 1908 that was sold to the Dominican Republic in the early 1960's, scrubbed, and re-marked. An interesting, and unusual addition to any Mauser collection. Worth about the same as the Brazilian 1908 in my opinion, but much less common. I've got one, but it's in only "Fair" condition.

DocAV will likely have something to add...

Nothing to add to what already well said.
