Rick: If you get the chance I have posted some pics and a question about an 1873 that some are now telling me is a Cadet while others say if it is it's been messed with as the barrel, depending on how you measure it is too short. 24 inches is my best guess The odd thing to me is that the stock seems right in relation to the barrel. I wonder why someone would cut five inches off the barrel and rework the stock re-positioning the front barrel band and it's clip. As I said if you have the chance. I know it's the holiday season so I understand you have other stuff going on. I just saw some comments you had made in a thread back in 2011 so I thought I ask for your thoughts. The thread is up now "1873 Springfield Trapdoor Cadet???" In the American Arsenal group.

I have been trying to respond to your private message, and when I do I don't see anything in my "sent items" folder. I don't know for sure if you got my message, so I sent an email as well. Anyways, please let me know if you have received my response. I am new to this forum, so I am most likely doing something wrong.

I was there 17 years !! They could not believe it when I quit, it was a great job, just could not tal Western new York anymore !! Was just in Elma visiting the inlaws last week, and will be there in August too. Leaving there was the best move ever, went to better weather & lower taxes. What company are you with ?

Ha, man, if I didn't have a good job, I would be out of here. Plus I have 20 years of contacts built up here...

We (my company, I led the field work) just did a stack test at Moog in December...cool place, and just down Bowen road from where I live, it was a nice commute for a few days!
