Do you have any pictures of the M91? Does it have the M91 barrel bands? Have the bolt and rifle stayed together? How is the stock condition?

    Poot,

I may have JHP solution for your Taurus 1911. I had good luck with Hornady 230 grain XTP over 6 grains of Unique set to an overall length of 1.9 inches. The same load and OAL worked for Remington 230 grain JHPs. I even ran a magazine of mixed XTPs and Golden Sabers with no failure to feed or the dreaded three point bind on jacketed hollow points.

    Jim,
Glad it worked out! I think that the T-53s have been surprising people with their accuracy and especially their phenomenal triggers. The one I kept is currently an on-going project for myself and my oldest son. Thanks for the update!

Got the second T53 I got from you cleaned up. The bolt closed on my no-go gauge so I used the bolt from the first one as a donor. I still need to pick up a field gauge. The bore was rougher and I did not expect much but with cleaning and shooting it started showing some promise at the range.

The first volley I forgot to extend the bayonet so the combined effects were not so good as shown below. The point of aim was the lower left 4 inch orange circle at 50 yards using light ball surplus

After some shoot and clean and getting used to the trigger which is pretty nice for a Mosin Nagant the ugly gal started to show some promise.

Then the final 20 round barrage gave better than good enough for battle on the eastern front results. :)

I think this rifle is going to do just fine as a plinking gun at the range especially with some cast bullet handloads. Just thought you would like to know how it worked.:D
