I have a double edge blade that is 9 ½” long and has some silver plate on it. The bayonet is 13 ¼” long from end to end. It has OEWG on one side of the blade and a T with a crown on the other. The crossguard has a muzzle ring (½” ID) and a tapered quillon on the opposite end, with two metal rivets holding it onto the blade and the numbers 547 also stamped in it. The hilt has wood grips with metal rivets and the steel pommel has a T with a crown on it also. The odd thing is the mortise in the end of the pommel is opposite of the muzzle ring? I have searched the internet and still don’t know the gun it fits, year made, or if it is Dutch?

I have a Winchester 1917 World War one rifle in excellent condition. It has a Remington bayonet with frog. Can you tell me what the bayonet is worth? I would like to have a Winchester bayonet to match the rifle. Thanks Malvin

BC thats awesome. My step-father's father also was an Engineer (driver) on a steam engine. I have been facinated by trains since I got my first train set at age 9. Do you have photo's of your great-grandfather and his locomotive? When you have a moment check out my web site. It is the group I belong to.

    Hoi BC,
I don't now how you did find the exact location of the grave of Heinrich Klaphecke. I tried to do the same ... no luck!
Was it a response to a more direct question to the German grave commission? That I didn't do. Just curious.
    Take care,
    Paul

BC, thanks for the compliment and the translation. I have added it to the album. I really like this album feature.
