Blair,
Does the round extract easily manually cycling the bolt? I ask because the angry beavers at Century only used a rough 7.62 chamber reamer on these conversions and never ran a finish reamer. As a result many have chambers that are anything but smooth and can make it difficult to extract brass. Throw in the higher pressures generated by 7.62 x 51 coupled with the fixed gas system and it doesn't take much to rip off the rim of a cartridge. That's why some folk have built adjustable gas regulators to reduce the gas pressure to the bolt carrier and thus the velocity of the bolt. 'Twasn't the greatest conversion in concept or execution. But they can be made to function w. some work.
