I'm not sure what a PM is on this forum that you referred to. Is it send email?

Regardless I would very much appreciate the dimensions you described. I am rather new to the period, but the Chassepot is such a beauty that I had to have it. If you any idea how to roll a correct cartridge I would be most appreciative as well.

    Hello G.

My email is I'm interested to see what you are working, it sounds like a cool project. Good luck getting ammo pouch details, there seems to have been many types during the 19th century, and I've never been able to get a clear idea of their development.

I have read your postings on needle firearms and find them extremely interesting. I have recently purchased a Chassepot in extremely fine condition and would like to fire it. However, I do not want to use the original needle and obturator for obvious reasons. Can you provide me a good source for reproduction needles? I understand from several forum posts that obturators can be made from plumbing rubber gaskets.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Howdy Guy and Leonard:
I am looking for either an original or reproduction cleaning rod for a M.1862 Zundnadelgewehr. Any leads would be appreciated.

    Dear Guy and Leonard,

Can you advise the 'parent' cases you've been using for your Werder ammunition? I'm about to commence a project to get a Gendarmerie carbine (11.5 x 35R) shooting again and am interested in any tips you might have.

    Dear Sirs,

You recently posted a topic on Gunboards on the Podewils Lindner 58/67 rifle which I read with relish since I have one on the way in shooting condition.  I would like to enquire about the original bullet dimensions with the aim of getting a mould cut.

If all goes well I may also soon aquire a carcano '67 to go with my Chassepot and Dreyse 1862 (none Beck), it seems we follow parallel paths although I do it as a personal challenge rather than for research.

I noticed it has a proof mark on the barrel at the left side of the receiver. Please post a better picture of it and we may be able to help. On a U. S. rifle, there will be a letter stamped there.

I have a dreyse m68 rifle that I am trying to load for. I would like to load the patrone m/72 cartridge. Is it possible you have a blue print of the bullet used?
Old West Bullet Moulds has a bullet available for the patrone m/55 but I would like to have him make a mold for the m/72 so I can take advantage of the lighter bullet.
Any suggestions on the construction of the sabot would be greatly appreciated
