Hello Norm, I also live in Lakeland and my birthday is 1 year and 2 days later than yours (May 29, 1950). I am managiing partner at Harley-Davidson of Lakeland. I have been a member of the Lakeland Rifle and Pistol Club since the 70's and left L.P.D. in 1993. I hope to make your acquaintance soon.

Mr. Sutton, Thank you and Chris Kinser for responding to my post regarding a M78/81 I recently acquired that was converted to black powder using a breech plug. I am in need of a M78/81 bolt because the black powder conversion required a rather large diameter hole about 9mm to be machined into the bolt face to accommodate the sticker that ignites the percussion cap. Is it true that the replacement bolt I get should be from a M78/81 or M81 rifle because the earlier bolts will not work? I plan on buying Buffalo Arms brass and buying the Lee dies. Can you recommend a powder charge and a particular lead bullet? I had a conversation with a man a Buffalo who needs into from knowledgeable people like yourself as he is trying to design a bullet mold for the Vetterli. I also need a lifter for a M78/81 as the black powder conversion ground a arm/lobe off the lifter so my elevator does not work. I also need a M/78/81 complete rear sight and would like to buy your front sight invention.
