A question about this forum. Is it permissible to post a WTS ad on this forum if I have a few mausers for sale?
    Thanks

Just read and retread your May 2013 "GUNS" article on the Serbian 1878/80 single shot. As your style a great read! What a gorgeous rifle!! Thanks for sharing!

    Hello,

I am working on an article for Ian Skennerton's International Arms and Militaria Collector magazine on the Berdan and Mosin-Nagant rifles in Imperial Russian service. I note that you provided images of a Berdan rifle, carbine, and dragoon rifle, to Manowar's Hungarian Weapons site where they are shown on a page discussing captured Berdans in Austrian-Hungarian employ. http://www.hungariae.com/Berdan.htm

I am interested in using your Berdan images in my article and am particularly interested in the image of the open actions of two Berdan II rifles - one of which exhibits features of conversion to 7.62X54R in the mid-1890s.

I would like to acknowledge you by name in my article if you would permit my inclusion of your photos.

Since your inbox was full, I'm posting this as a visitor message.

Thank you very much for your time.

    Best,

    Gunnar (Ketoujin)

    Hi John,
I'm new to the board and I recently came across a great old WWI vintage lighter. It's brass and copper with the word "Verdun" engraved on one side. I posted a picture and a couple questions about it on a thread called, " A question about those "WW1" Lighters" but no one seems to be around to comment. Now of course I can't seem to up load the picture here but you can find in that thread. You seem to know a lot about this era and I wonder if you could answer some of my questions. Who made these, when, where and what's it's approximate value.
I'd be grateful for any thoughts you can share.
    Thanks,
    William Sadler

I am also a member of surplusrifleforum.com. It's been some time since I logged on and they have a number of new hoops to get through to login. Since you are a mauser fan, too, I thought you may know how I can contact Ed Hoffer or another moderator on that forum. I've lost Ed's email address. Thank you. LarrysGrip, Larry

  10. Yo JPS - your PM inbox is full & we're taking off -

    Hi John,

I didn't post, I just rated the thread 5 stars. Just wondering if the stars could be edited.

Sounds like fantastic hunting! If I'm lucky I'll get 3 deer & a few hogs & a half dozen coyotes in Jan/Feb/Mar. I just need it to cool off some.

    Take care, good hunting,

    j
