I wish to file complaints against several members for harassment and personal attacks against me. On thread "ce 41 -k98" I was helping a member understand the probable history of a Mauser he had purchased at an estate sale when "moconfed" made a personal attack on me in post 16. "Mauser 202" followed with a personal attack on me with nasty remarks and a cartoon! "Nirvana" also contributed with personal attacks on me with his posts #23 and 30. These Gentlemen hold themselves to be "experts" and they are not! They do not understand the basic way the German army did Field Repairs and make nonsense remarks without offering any helpful discussion or information. "Mowzerluvr" in his post 15, gave incorrect information which reveals how little he knows: He opined that the ejector box assembly screw had been "over tightened"! An impossibility. They seem to follow me from thread to thread, with inane comments and insults and claim that "shooterike" started it! Please investigate this.

Hey TP I was wondering you could could help me with a little info on a reworked Danzig 1917/1920 Gew.98, it has a bent bolt, and a waffenamt on the buttstock, and front sight. I dont have the SN on me right now, but any info you could help me with would be great. I know a decent amount about the K98k, but not much about the Gew.98 and if many of them were even issued during the second WWII.

Tp thank you for the feedback
Here is the reason why have brought it in to this forum is, the rifle is registered here in Canada and the national fire arms registry has it down as a "1924 FN short rifle" most of those 1924 FN short rifles have been made for a military contract to Venezuela. (If it is a military contract it misses the crest on the large ring) But when I inspected it further it showed an non typical crown and the number 7 below with the letters FSR (that could make it Swedish or Norwegian) It doesn’t look like any or the known Belgian proof marks, The Capital "F" could stand for Alexandre Lambert (proof controller 1927-1953the only way to proof if it is a 1924 I have been told to take a K98 bolt of another rifle and see if it fits it’s a 1930 if it doesn’t it’s a 1924.If you could please point me the right forum where I might be able to get some feedback Thanks S.

    Hey TP,

Thanks for your offer. Assume the sling is leather. What is the condition and price? Would be easier if you e-mail me at my home address. Am not too familiar with everything here except posting my nonsense, I mean questions and photos.

My e-mail address is Harbelis@cox.net. Thanks for the offer.

I re hardened the frizzen on my Pedersoli 77 Charleville. The sparks look more like
sparks from a cigarette lighter that from that of a Flint musket. The sparks seem plentiful, just they're form of the sparks seems like as described. Any input appreciated. Dex

    Hello TP,
Weiss here, It's stamped 8x63 on the receiver above the serial number so thought it might be the original cal.

Hello TP-Newbie here. I've had a Danzig 1916 Gewehr 98 sitting around for many, many years. I have extra parts? also. Basic question is the barrel is 22'+-long and terminates just in front of the metal band!? This leaves the cleaning rod 4" or so projecting beyond the end of the barrel. It's really not in bad shape and I'm wondering if the barrle has been cut down? Appears to to crowned and polished? Would a arsenal have done this due to deterioation of the barrel end or what? Don't know much about these so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom My E-mail is asop@charter.net
