Hey, Jarhead, just going over some old posts and correspondence. How did your hip turn out? Let me know heow yours turned out.
Thanks for the well wishes buddy. I'm just now catching up with things. Glad to hear that your hip is better. the VA treats us pretty good down here in gods little waiting room. Maybe you should take a vacation to Florida next time you need something done. Happy New Year! Walt
No didn't get the surgery yet . I'm going to have it in Feb. Going to do orthoscopic one more time with some new proceedure. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Thanks! I we wish you a very Merry Christmas too! I hope you are healing up well. BTW, when are you going to venture down in the minefield? I could probably throw in a good word for you to Makdaddy.
Thank you. I hope you have a great holiday season as well. You and many others are the reasons I come to gunboards. There are better and wiser men than I at gunboards and I wish to learn as much as I can.
Thanks again, All the best.
Hello Jarhead. How are you feeling? did the surgery go OK? I'm thinking about having mine done. (After the fall snook fishing season of course) Get well buddy. OG
Good to hear you are doing alright!!! Relax and take care of yourself.
Just wanted to drop you a note. Hope everything goes well today and you're back up and running as soon as possible. Prayers sent.
Please send me a note when you're up to it to let me know all is well.
You running a 4 speed in your '70? You just can't beat bangin through the gears on a V-8 and a 4 speed. Especially late at night when no one is on the road. No thinking, just hammering the throttle and only letting up to shift. The scream of the big block coming alive, and the whine of the M22. It puts you in an almost euphoric state.
At one time I was considering buying a '64 Ranchero with a mild 289 and a 4 speed. The guy wanted $1500 for it. But the bed had major cancer in it, and the quarters were bondoed up. I decided to pass on it. My intent was to buy that, get it running, drive it, and when I found one transplant the drivetrain into a early Mustang.
Now I am waiting on a '71 Chevelle to come out of hibernation. It's an all original 350 Malibu, automatic, black bucket interior, console, black cherry with a black vinyl top. Should clean up pretty nice.
If you don't mind me asking what was your MOS when you were in the Marine Corps?
I couldn't help but notice it says you like muscle cars in your profile. Any particular flavor?
I've got a thing for the '70 Chevelles, it could have something to do with the fact the car I grew up around ,and am currently driving, is a '70 Super Sport with an LS5, and M22. It was purchased by my father the day after he got out of the Army in 1970.
I don't mean to intrude on your profile space, but I saw the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, and then the fact you enjoy muscle cars.
