Couldnt help but notice the boer flag and that you're in South Carolina. You dont get alot Afrikaners in the American south. Where in South Africa are you from? I got a really good friend who lives right outside Johannesburg in Randberg. I might be going on a trip there sometime within the next year.

    Hi,

I will see if I can get some pics and more detail of the rifle. It has a "1979 New Zealand Palma championship" medallion in the buttstock. Still shoots real good.

I am a new visitor under this forum. I own a 'canadian Sportco 44'. I am interested in the markings that might identify your 'Canadian Palma Sportco' to others in its timeline. Pls PM me if you have info particular to your rifle.
Mine has P-H sights front(FS22A) and rear(4651A). It does not have the cut out for the Central-type side-mount adaptor. It does have two drill-out and tapped holes forward of the bolt release. My rifle has the over-barrel stock and associated 'band securing device' c/w sling loop.
Have you done any research into this rifle?
    Pls keep me informed.

    Yours truly,

How'sit Hagar, I'm located in South Central Florida, directly below Lake Okeechobee. I built my R1 from a South African Parts kit that I fitted an Imbel receiver to. The barrels pretty frot but it functions really well and gives acceptable accuracy.

    Cheers

    Neil
