@rittmeister thanks for the info. I only have the scabbard for the two krag m94 bayonets. Are you from Norway? I inherited them from my grandfather along with a very interesting and working Krag m1894 rifle with the very low and matching no. 244. :) according to Haneviks book "krag jørgensen geværet" it was part of a test batch from Kongsberg våpenfabrikk. :)

How do you know what bayonet will work with your Nor Krag? Are there serial numbers that you can go by? In other words what bayonet will be correct for my 1912 Nor Krag Carbine built in 1924?

I am currently researching for a book series on Bayonet frogs and hangers, and just found out about the Krag frogs with the Felds button, Is this a locking button that goes into the hilt slot on the bayonet or for some other reason? I never came across these when I lived in Norway, although I must admit the frog/hanger for these were very uncommon when I was there, at least in the places I frequented. Also I am looking for a good front and back picture of a frog with the button on it to illustrate it in the Norwegian section when that volume comes out, I will give full credit to the supplier of the pictures and the length and width of the frog, of anyone would be so kind. I will keep looking to buy one but better safe than sorry. Many thanks in anticipation

Hi

Here's the "Fjelds knapp" from the norwegian army museum. I think the button goes into the slot on the hilt to secure the bayonette in the scabbard.

Here's a rather cool pic.showing the manufacturing process.

This experimental scabbard would extend the reach of the M/94 bayonette.

You should contact the museum for better pics. Maybe they have more interesting stuff too?

Many thanks, i'll give them a try, unfortunately my experience of other museums is that I get no response or feedback out of all the ones I have contacted for information only the South Africans helped, although I have been contacted by other museums to ask for help or to clarify information on my bayonet site. I do like the mine probe scabbard, with the extended reach,

Carl
