Default a couple of mosin rebarrels

a couple more projects for the work bench. both barrels are pictured on the same receiver right now, i'm going to order a couple more hex mosins next week.
this barrel came from a russian maxim machine gun.

the barrel is 25 1/2" long. the muzzel weight on the end of the barrel is 1" dia. and 3 1/2" long. after the muzzel weight the barrel drops down to .675 then tapers to 1.187 at the shank.
    it will stay in 7.62x54r

i'm going to make a stock for it similar to this finn mosin 27-66 target rifle.

this one is from a madsen light machine gun.

the barrel is 20" long, .940 at the muzzel & 1.175" at the shank. it has a 7mm bore so i think i'll do a 7mmx54r wildcat with it. i'm not sure what i'm going to do with the stock for it .yet

Those look nice. Are if you don't mind me asking, where did you find the MG barrels? I wouldn't building something like those sometime, I bet they would be a lot of fun

This might be a silly question but was the Maxim barrel the same thread? What is the purpose of the weight?

Looks WAY cool and I want it.

No idea of whether the Maxim and M-N share asank and thread, but I'm pretty sure that isn't a weight n the end of the Maxim barrel. I think it was where the water jacket was fitted

There is a 7x53R that was once loaded by both LAPUA and SAKO. One of the so called "Finnish Derivative Calibers".
Original brass can occasionally still be found but, if not, the cases are easily made from 7.62x53R (or 7.62x54R)
    Loading data is also available.
