    does anyone know what year a webley mk iv revolver serial number 387509 was made? thanks for looking.

    Are you sure you have the number and model written down correctly? It looks more like a Mark VI number.

    you are correct sir it is a mark vi, could you tell me what year it was made?

    1918, but if it is military issue (which it should be) the date is on the LHS above the trigger.

    just picked up serial # 178049, which is still in original .455, but the serial number on the cylinder is different than the frame number. The date on the LHS above the trigger is a Patent date of 1915. Iread that .455s were worth more than the ones converted to .45, so any idea of the value?

    1915 is not a patent date; it was the date that particular revolver was accepted into military service. What did you pay and what is the condition? A mixed gun will not have the same value as one with matching numbers.
