What Happened to the Czechoslovak Rifle Research Database?Mauser Military Rifles of the World, fifth edition, page 120 lists 9 sources for the information on a chart of Czechoslovak rifles. Source number six is: The Czechoslovak Rifle Research Database, an internet site developed and managed by Robert Lukes with the support of hundreds of collector-contributers, and hosted by Gunboards.com
What happened to the database? Is it lost forever?
Or is that now http://rml1708.com/MyCzechWebpage/czmaim.htm?
I posted this 24 hours ago on the Czech Weapons Board. So far there are 57 views and no replies.

No, I was not looking for the data sheet. I was looking for the database giving serial number and other info on a quantity of VZ24 rifles. I have long used the database at http://rml1708.com/MyCzechWebpage/czmaim.htm but my question is, "Is that the same as the database referred to in MMRW?" If that is not the same database, then what happened to the Robert Lukes database?

On a related subject, I just discovered the following:
Zielinski, Stan, The Finish on Japanese Model 99 Rifle Stocks, Banzai, May 2000, http://www.gunboards.com/sites/banza...p_of_M99Finish, accessed January 16, 2012.
Zeigler, Shannon and Zielinski, Stan, Update on The Finish on Japanese Model 99 Rifle Stocks, Banzai, March 2001, http://www.gunboards.com/sites/banza...ate_M99_finish, accessed January 16, 2012.
Is there a list somewhere of reference materials that are hosted by Gunboards?

Please check on the quote above also.
Added: I think I answered my own question. The email address at http://rml1708.com/MyCzechWebpage/czmaim.htm is rml1708@... I suspect rml is Robert Lukes and that is the VZ24 database referred to in MMRW. However, it no longer seems to be hosted by Gunboards as stated in MMRW (or the rml1708.com url does not appear to be associated with Gunboards).

True, it is gone...the problem with citing data from the internet is that when the site owner's interests shift, their old site URLs often disappear. The morale of the story is print outr the data, or download when you can!

But is http://rml1708.com/MyCzechWebpage/czmaim.htm the same as the Robert Lukes website you referenced as a source?
