    Question Iver Johnson M1 Carbine

I know it is not a true military carbine, but thought this forum is as close as I will get. I have an Iver Johnson M1 carbine with the serial # AA36006 can anyone tell me when it was made?
    Thankyou

TK58, what little I've found on the Iver Johnsons is from listings on Gunbroker, Guns America, and the blue book. Nothing matching serial #'s to yr of manufacture. I'm looking too. Let me know if you find out anything. I'll watch this thread, and will post if I get any info.

I have AA7012X which I bought in 1993. My guess is that they are all at least pre 1989.

If the address on the carbine is Middlesex NJ then it was made before 1983. The AA prefix means it's a standard model IJ carbine.

Tuna, I'm looking at one that has Jacksonville AR on it. Does that just date it after 1983?

    Thanks, Tom

Yes as IJ moved to Jacksonville AR in 1983 from NJ.

Thanks Tuna. I borrowed it to clean and shoot it. Thinking about trying to buy it. I know it's not a collector, but they're neat little guns.
