I can remember when I thought owning the IJ70 was the bomb, with those adjustable sights, which I happened to like.

I had a pair of the Makawrap, I never got accustomed to that design. The only thing I liked about it was the front finger grooves.

Yeah I know what your talking about, but it's nice for carry and that's what I use it for.

This is my latest purchase. I bought her off Gunbroker for $233.99 and $25.00 shipping. It came with a Pierce grip and the stock Baikel grip, 2 mags, cleaning rod and zipper pouch. She is now wearing a Marschal grip for dress-up.

This is my first Mak, an IJ-70 that I picked up for $200 at the gun store I work at. I had our Cerakote guy work his magic and I have an extremely clean carry piece now.

Newbie here. Got my first Mak. It and holster are in like-new shape. Pics aren't very good; I'll work on my technique :-). Purchased recently for $200 from a widow who didn't want it in the house. It shoots beautifully. I like it! Will start doing some studying on Makarov's. I appreciate all the knowledge on this forum.

Looking for USS Casimir Pulaski SSBN 633 items.

Now if these moderators who claim to have Simpson Suhls and 1959 EGs and unmarked Russian PMs post, we'll start building a library!

ID:	809430This is a PLA (Peoples liberation Army ) issue Makarov. A very few of these have surfaced in USA collections and all are believed to be bring backs from the Vietnam War. Of the few observed, some have capture paper, This one came from an auction in the late 70s. It was listed as a bring back. It came with its issue holster. (of course there are not any import marks)
Later I will post a non import stars and shield Chinese Makarov which is apparently police or border guards issue. Then I will list a zz prefix non import which are believed to be the export model. For now enjoy this PLA Makarov which I am pleased to add to this sticky library.Click image for larger version.

Here is an East German dated 1959 which is a recent import. I am told that 1958 was the first year, but none have yet surfaced on this side of the pond.
The markings were stamped into the metal, not engraved. Since this was in a batch of recent imports there must be more of these around. Happy to add it to this sticky library.Click image for larger version.

Here are pictures of the not import marked Chinese Makarov with the so called stars and shield grips. These are claimed to be issued to police, border guards, etc. It looks like the above PLA military issue Makarov, except the grips are different.Click image for larger version.

Default Good day at the yard

Nothing fancy like a PLA model or a Chinese star & shield. Those are cool. And I never saw a 1959 EG before. How many more variants are out there that I ain't seen yet? But I shot over 200 rds outta these four this afternoon w/o one hiccup. I love this stuff. Frank

Here's the new East German. Came with the thumb-rest grip. You can see the roughest spot on it near the muzzle in this pic. The rest is fairly clean other than some holster wear you'll see in the next pic.

The other side with the East German circle-diamond and K100. Plus, some bonus muzzle wear.

Swapped the grips to a pair of E. German ones I had laying around. Came with one magazine with the hump in it.

    Here's my 1985 Bulgarian.

I was losing the light fast, but got them both together for one last shot.

Very pretty. I have one as well, but it's a '76.. (and I'm still curious how they got here sans import marking..)
