Default WTS Mosin Nagant "Accurizing" Kits Now In Stock 8-19

    Hey Guys,

Ever wonder how to make a Mosin Nagant more accurate? I have been working to create a shim and barrel wrap kit for the Mosin Nagant rifle. For those of you that do not know shims and barrel wraps were used by Soviet snipers and the Finn's to tune the barrel harmonics and increase accuracy. These kits are designed to work with m38, m44, and 91/30 (obviously PE, PEM, and PU). They also fit the Finnish Mosin's and the Chinese Type 53 carbines. I'm not sure how many of you have tried to cut the shims out before but it sucks and can be time consuming to get them to fit right and have them look clean. So I have worked with some people I know to create a laser cut shim kit. The kit includes "accurizing" instructions (including pictures from the russian manual), three 4 piece laser cut 26 gauge galvanized shim sets, and 2 olive drab light canvas barrel wraps that are 3/4" x 12". From what I have seen in the majority of the 91/30 stocks I come into contact with the shims are made of galvanized so I tried to keep it accurate in that sense. Multiple sets of shims are in each kit in case it is necessary to stack the shim. Each kit includes the necessary parts to "accurize"1-2 rifles. I currently have 30 kits available. Each kit is $20 plus $4 shipping to conus. Payment via USPS MO or cash. Please PM or email at [email protected] if interested.

    Thanks,
    Brian

    Question:

    I am cheap.

I can get Cashier's checks for free at my local Credit Union. MO's cost a couple bucks at the Post Ofice. Would a CC work for you?

How do you do the barrel wrap mod? Is it like sanding the channel to free float?
Is it odd that I choose to collect a gun that most likely was used to force my Russian Jewish ancestors out of Russia?

    Sir,

I'll take one kit if it is still available for my PU sniper. I'll be able to send you a USPS MO Tuesday when I get back in to town.

Got my kit today. First class quality. Now begins the process of tightening up the groups on up to three of my Mosins. Can't wait.

Thanks for the kit. I used two action, two tang, one front/one rear magazine shim. No barrel wrap yet, and just snugged the action screws after 10 rounds down range on my $100 T53. This was 100 yards out, first time shooting this rifle actually.

    Thanks again!

    Hey Guys,

I would like to take a second to thank everyone who has purchased a kit so far. I am anticipating a lot of emails and messages about improved range results. I still have plenty kits available for sale. The fabricator isnt the biggest fan of cutting such thin galvanized (26 gauge) with the laser so there is the thought of possibly going to a 20 gauge steel. My concerns are that this may be too thick and being regular steel may rust unless coated. The thickness of 26 gauge galvanized is .0217 inches or .551 mm and 20 gauge steel is .0359 inches or .912 mm. So my question is, to those of you that have seen the kits and used the kits what are your thoughts about going to 20 gauge steel?

    Thanks,
    Brian

I would keep the kits the way they are. You said it yourself, too thick and possible rust....the nice thing about your kits now is that you can or can not stack shims in there, and no rust...

Those are my thoughts Tula, I have to keep the fabricator happy though. He has the ability to shut this whole thing down if he starts to refuse the galvanized. I can already tell he's not a big fan. Stainless is another option which would combat the rusting possibility however the cost of the kits would go up to cover the increased material expense. I think the pricing is good right where it is. I will try to find a way to keep things going as they are, I was just seeing what you guys thought.

Ask them to do a combination run of thicker and smaller shims? Then just include 2 shims per kit (one small, one thick). As far as rusting goes, tell people to rattle can the shim with their favorote color spray paint? Sorry just spit balling here. Hope some of it helps....

    Hi Brian

Thanks for the kits, I have some of the original shims in a sniper Mosin and these look great and look just like the originals. A well thought out shim set!

    Thanks!

I believe that SPF means...ship pending funds. I ordered two of these kits and I can attest to the quality of the pieces, the packaging/instructions are great and the shipping is quick and easy! I installed one kit and I can tell you that rifle shoots way better meaning smaller groupings on paper.
