Sako gets all the headlines.....
How about V.K.T.?
By the by, SAKO and VKT are both acronyms.
SAKO: Suojeluskuntain Ase-ja Konepaja Osakeyhtiö
VKT: Valtion Kirvaaritehdas
"Self-realization. I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"
I did not know either & several years ago when I bought this rifle, I was astonished to find the bolthead was V.K.T. manufactured.
Pahtu, that's really remarkable. I have not seen a VKT bolt-head before. Thanks for sharing.
Nothing worthwhile ever comes easily.
I like SAKOs, and some of my rifles have SAKO marked parts. Most interestin' part on several Finns, a cocking knob with the last four numbers of the rifle's serial number. Obviously done by the Finns, well done. It's a M28 rifle. Will go in and check the rifle.
That is very cool. I've never seen a VKT bolt head either!
"You mean to say you don't know me? I'm Antti Rokka. A farmer from the Isthmus. At the moment I sell bullets."
Most M28/30 nosecap/bands have the SAKO stamp down in the lower corner
Now I'm going to have to clean that rifle!!
SAKO stamped stock with rifle serial stamped on the end of the stock - Not something really special, but not seen all that often either.
Rifle no longer in my possession - Another firearm I bought that is now worth much more than I paid & I no longer own....
Great idea for a thread.I really enjoyed the photos. Like the members above,i'd never seen vkt bolt head...........Larry
