Type 53 serial number database

Over the years I collected several serial number of Type 53 carbines, just like the 91/30 sniper rifles and the Vz54/57 rifles.
I began to organize the T53 serial numbers into a database and I can already crudely estimate a production quantity, not only on year basis but also on mothly basis.

However, for a better, detail work I need more serial numbers.

I want to continue this research and to further his study your help and input is appreciated.

The informations I need are:

-Production year and eventually month of the carbine

-Arsenal that made the rifle (296 or 26)

-Rifle serial number (with prefixes if available ( '53 and few '54 dated guns and 1960 dated guns)

Pics are welcome. If you can't take some pics, there's no problem.

No records are kept linking names to arms.

You can send me a PM trough gunboards.com or you can send me an email at:
alb_deka@yahoo.it

Yor help is very appreciated.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Warmest regards.

I guess you are talking about the work done by member "ryg" and also re-written by Tex when the forum was upddated.
I have the informations and I'll contact Ryg for sharing my datas.

Datas on early rifles are still not enough for me, to estimate a reliable moth production from june '53 to april '55.

Anyway, anything you can find is welcomed.

Thanks and best regards

#1. 1954.12 1301237 |296 Picked it up at a local gun show a few years back. Non import marked, possible bring back.

#2. 1960 CT3896 /26\ Also picked up at a local gun show last year. This one is a VN bringback. Non import marked. Has the weird T bisecting C serial prefix letter or symbol or goofy looking G.

Thanks

I bet the serial number prefix of your '60 dated gun is "G".

It's hard to see. My pics suck when I took them of it, so it's not clear haha! I'd default to your knowledge of the serial prefix of the T53s. They are Mosins, but I'm not up on all their specific quirks. Just happened across them and they looked very interesting, and were both excellent deals. Less than any refurb that's coming in to the US now anyways!

I really can't recall, I may have given you some or all of these. I appreciate your effort.

EDIT: I spaced these out, but the program did not like the effort. Sorry.

Thank you Sir.
The " 1955 26 3060260 " was missing in my survey. Thank you.

Your 55.2 s/n should be 1361211 and not 1561211. 156,000 can't be correct for february '55.

Regards

Thank you.

Tonapc,

your carbine is #3316836 and is one of the last of '55.

Thank you.

sapishka,
I think your s/n may be B4729 or E4729.
Please let me what letter prefix is. not a single "B" serialized t53 is listed in my survey.
