    Default 1914 Spandau GEW 98

    Hi,

A family member found in their attic a GEW 98. It has duffle cut and is a 1914 Spandau. All numbers match including screws, bolt and stock. Its in decent shape but definitely looks like its been through a war. Being that I have not been a Mauser collector for over 15 years, forgot a lot and never really had GEW 98s, I am just checking to see if this is just an ordinary GEW or if there is anything special about this year.

    Thanks in advance.

Any 1914 date matching gew98 is a scarce rifle. My 1914 spandau is matching and it's the only matching '14 spandau I have encountered. Consider yourself lucky indeed.
