I've been looking for a set of wood grips for my IZH-70, so I would like some recommendations. I'm mainly after a grp set that is laminated like the russian AK handguards. I guess I should add that my IZH is a single stack .380 one. Any ideas?
Not a whole lot of choices, Marshall grips is about the only place I know of to get them these days. There used to be a guy on Ebay but I have not seen his for a while.
So, I am thinking about ordering a smooth barewood grip from Marschals so I can finish it myself with Tru-Oil. What wood would look best with Tru-Oil on it? I'd like all of your opinions on this.
Guess I'm old fashioned, walnut is my wood of choice. Have not had time to post the pictures but just received two sets of grips from Marschal for my FEG SMC 918 and FEG R61.
Does anyone remember a poster named scootermak and the wood grips he made grinding the aftermarket plastic grips and gluing on scales of wood? They looked pretty neat, but I cant find any history of the posts...
Those grips look great! We had a poster on here years ago who made wood grips in his home shop. I don't remember his handle.
