Here's a couple AP photos I noticed online. They involve the train being used to carry victims of the Malaysian airline flight from Ukraine. First one the guard appears to be holding a Makarov in his left hand. It even looks cocked. He doesn't appear to be big on weapon safety. Second, it sure looks to me like Makarov holsters on the railroad police.
It's kinda weird to be holding both firearms at the ready like he's doing. He'll probably not get neither into action and fire accurately. If it were me, the Makarov would be uncocked in my pocket if no holster were available and the AK74 would be the first choice in defending myself.
