Uberti SAA production tables
Do you know where I can find any info about Uberti Single Action Army revolver production tables..?
serial #, years of production.... for old (Uberti & Gardone) and recent (Beretta Uberti) models.
Any help will be appreciated.

I'm not sure what you mean by Uberti & Gardone. Uberti's manufacturing facilities are located in Gardone, Val Trompe(Valley of Trumpets), Italy.

I'm just talking about barrel's marking on early productions :
"A.Uberti & C.Gardone VT Italy" (as written on my old 44/40). Marking on top of barrel.
On my more recent .45 SAA : "A.Uberty - Italy" only. Marking under the barrel just in front of cylinder pin.

I am not by my library but maybe someone could check this one for me. Can't you determine the proof date (and thus the approximate manufacture date) by the markings from the proof house? I cannot recall if Italy includes date information on their proof markings.

I've read somewhere that date of manufacture marking code can be found under the barrel (two letters into a square) and two examples were quoted : AC = 1977, AS = 1987.
Mine has AH into a square. Any idea?

According to information I've just located, that in addition to proof marks the year of proofing will be stamped in Roman numerals beginning in 1945 with the Roman numeral I. 1950 would be VI, 1980 would be XXXVI, and 2008 would be LXIV. The information doesn't state where, on the firearm, it will be found. Isn't this almost the same as dating, in Roman numerals, mussolini's reign beginning in 1922 with the Roman numeral I and so on stamped on Beretta handguns and ending in 1944 with XXIII?

No roman numeral on my Uberti SAA.
Only stared proof marks : PSF (polvere senza fumo = smokeless powder) and a crest with two crossed rifles on both barrel and cylinder.
Another strange marking under barrel : CAT1589.
But that's all....

I've done additional research and found that the Roman numeral system I mentioned in an earlier post was used until 1974. Beginning in 1975, a two letter code in a rectangle was implemented to date firearms. The code dating applies to all Italian firearms.
This is all the information I have.

Here are the rest of the year codes for Italian firearms from 1995 to 2007.
That is all the codes except for the current year.

You are the best, Clermont.
I have two Uberti SAA :
one is AH (1981) and the other CA (2006).

Francois, I sent you a PM.
I posted this link on the Italian firearms site, but will add it here, too:
this is a site listing the date codes from 1959-2000.
FWIW, hope it is useful to someone.
