Umm... it's been well over a year. I got my money back from IO for the botched group buy sometime in late Feb or early March of last year. LOL

    Cheers,

i just meant it was almost a year from the second try at them.

i just want a decent tt-33 for the price i paid. dont really care the orgin as long as it is in good shape and not a commercial chinese one.

i need a romanian and a yugo to complete my tt-33 group. i dont want to go out and buy a yugo, then have them replace it with a yugo if they cant find any more romanians.

Exclamation Are these guys getting them from io and we're not ?

We have received a large shipment of these popular pistols, and they are ready for shipping again! These are the Romanian Tokarev TTC pistols in 7.62x25 caliber. Also called Pistolet TTC (Tulskiy Tokarev Cugir) Romanesc, they are blued, used and in very good condition. Safety is installed on side for importing requirements. Black grips often marked with star and the letters RPR which means Republica Populară Romînă (Romanian People's Republic). Grips sometimes cracked or modifed a bit. Includes one magazine and a holster. Spare mags available also. C&R eligible. A great piece of history.

Their LH side picture shows Century import markings. Of course, who's to say how old those pictures are.

    Default TT-33

I spoke to I.O. yesterday to request my money order back, and they were very cordial. They still have no idea when the TT 33's will be in; But with my luck they will arrive the day after I receive my refund. Good luck all-SB

I'm waiting to see what Vic finds out. In the mean time I've refused to buy IO stuff (I know they are a sponsor) until I see my pistol. I even pasted on some IO imported stuff I saw for a good price in a local gunshop. Maybe I'm being spiteful, but I can't believe they have such a hard time getting them in country when century keeps importing them and other deals are offering them again (and again and again).

I finally bailed yesterday. Sent email to IO requesting return of my MO. I bought a Romy and Polish Tok since mailing my MO last year. No more group buys for me.

The OP is closed, so I do not know what you guys are paying for these on the group buy.

I can tell you however, that I walked into J&G sales last week, and picked up a great one for $199 with one mag, cleaning rod, holster, and lanyard. Barrel and finish are pristine (refinished blue of course) Safety is crudely machined and a ugly afterthought, but it is required. I did not do hand pick. This TT was the one on the top of the stack of boxes.

Perhaps Vic or somebody could ask J&G what a group buy price might be. I'd jump in for another, as these are great shooters, and Then I'd be less tempted to shoot my Russian unit.

The Billboard stamp is UGLY and big and centered on the left side of the slide. I wish that were not the case, but it is.

Not to be rude guys but your never going to get those darn things.

Besides you can get them direct from CAI for $209 shipped.

I would ask for a refund, unless your planning on getting them for free nothing is worth that wait.

been watching this for over a year, fortunately for me I didnt have a C&R at the time (had one for a year now though) and did not get involved on that buy. I would get my money back on this one fellas. Keep waiting and there wont be any TOKs left anywhere.

All of that being said, I appreciate Vic going to bat for us, and getting us group buys. I have been involved with most since April of last year and have had good results with all of them.

Unfortunately I missed the group buy on the Rommy SKS because of this thread. Wish I had jumped on that one. IO certainly dropped the ball on this one fellas.

I really need to get hold of them again too. One and a half months wait should be plenty for them to send my Money Order back.

About as likely as Obama decreeing that every American between the ages of 18-65 should be issued an M4 carbine to keep in their home for national defense. :D

wondering if they did more harm than good by trying to keep the group buy alive.

if they really dont have them, then they should say so and return everyone's money.

if someone is leading them on, they need to tell their supplier that if they arent in by a certain date to cancel the order. other importers are getting these from somewhere, seems like it should be entirely possible that IO should have received theirs in the last 14 months.

im pretty patient, but 14 months since the deadline and no hope of pistols makes me really question their word, and wonder if i should ever attempt to order anything else from them.

wonder if any other sponsor would want to step in and be heroes here?

    Default Mail Order Rule

I thought the government only allowed 30 days to ship an item or the merchant had to provide means to cancel and tell when it would be shipped under the Mail Order Rule 16 CFR 435. Am I correct?

    Mail or Telephone Order Rule

A Federal Trade Commission rule that requires a seller to ship goods ordered by mail, phone, computer or fax to you within the time promised or, if no time was stated, within 30 days. If the seller cannot ship within that period, the seller must send you a notice with a new shipping date and give you the option of canceling your order and getting a refund.

I couldn't handle the wait and bought this months excellent condition one from Century. If this one ever arrives I can deal with having two I was worried about having all the ammo and completely missing out on the TT's.

if you dont have them or dont know if they are coming, just tell us, dont just keep saying "we expect them next month".

OK I have had some discussions with the importer on this and have gotten the story and our delay and what the issue has been. It has not been with the importer-IO but rather with the Romanians and some legal issues that have befallen Cugir in the wake of their dissolution. Dragging through legal issues it has shown some sunlight then delays, then sunlight for us then delays. In wake of this it is simply not fair for us to be waiting and waiting and waiting and not fair for IO to take the blame. The legal issues involved with material and monies owed to parties overseas has left all of us with a sour taste.

Io has contacted me and informed me that my request to pull the plug on this group buy is being honored and that all monies and or money orders are being returned to the senders as a complete refund. It is my understanding and that of IO's that no checks or monies have been cashed so you may well receive your original payment back. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and am relieved that we can get this monkey off our backs and get the books balanced to a big fat zero.

IO has also offered to supply an in house credit of 10.00 for each ember that purchased a pistol in our group buy as compensation for the delay-sort of an interest payment. So I would hope we will begin to see refunds this week coming in the mail if we are lucky.

Please see some other offers that being given to me as a replacement on this in regard to pistols. 25 P64 pistols with 2 magazines are being held for our group as compensation for 189.95. Plus you can use the discount for another 10.00 off for a total of 179.95. These are in excellent shape.

So to be brief-refunds are forthcoming on the TT33 buy that failed. Thank you guys for being a member of Gunboards and for being patient with us. This was a mess and thank lord we can be done with it.

I have sent Lea 3 e-mails with complete details including Money Order # since 6/17/09 and have yet to have a reply. Since I am hearing impaired I can't phone her. Is this the correct e-mail address: lea@ioinc.us Hasn't been returned so I assume it is OK.
