Default M28 with "Ski Trooper" stock

Just picked up this m28. It is in the right range for a Ski Trooper and has the double sling slot stock. 1897 tang date. It is an old u-fix-um the guy never got around to fixing. I'm a sucker for an old war horse. The heal of the stock is broken off. Been looking around for a walnut or even a dark colored stock to graft on to it. And last a pic with my other recent Finn pick up an m24.
    Still packed with grease.

So true, it sold for a bargain for what it is.

Pretty uncommon replacement Finn made bolthead - I have a rifle with a VKT bolthead....not seen all that often.

Never knew there were vkt bolt parts. Cool! I've seen a few sako cocking pieces but never a vkt bolt head

I was a bidder on this and ended up buying a different ufixem m28 from him that happened to end during the Super Bowl so I probably got it cheaper than I would have otherwise. It doesn't have a broken heel like yours but it has equal or greater issues (broken handguard, missing barrel band and nosecap screws, small crack in front of mag) Congrats on your purchase. I look forward to mine arriving soon.

The real prize here is that M24's very, very old stock. No sling slots or crossbolt. Good find!

+1 I'll have to agree, however that is a very nice M28 with double sling slots.

Easy repair for a good wood guy. Nice grab.

But inevitably they fail, either because men are not afraid to die for a life worth living, or because the terrorists themselves came to realize that free men cannot be frightened by threats, and that aggression would meet its own response. And it is in the light of that history that every nation today should know, be he friend or foe, that the United States has both the will and the weapons to join free men in standing up to their responsibilities."

Century Arms used to sell damaged or broken guns as non returnable bargain priced projects and called them "u-fixem's". They also used the sell "three-fer's".
