Default Makarov Magazines - more coming?

I just ordered a Bulgarian Makarov from SOG last week and it's at my FFL waiting for me to pick it up. One magazine is not enough and I want 4 more. However, I don't feel like paying $134 for 4 (or $67 for 2) via eBay and don't want to dabble with the de-rusted ones from Numrich unless I'm going to cold blue them, and just don't feel like dealing with that hassle and added cost. I checked GB and every ad listed is $30 or higher per mag except for one guy and I'm waiting for him to get back to me on shipping costs because they're not listed.

Should I hunker down and wait for another shipment to arrive in the states (who knows when that will be) and then buy 4 hopefully at a better price than the slim pickings that are out there now? Or should I say screw it, and at least pick up a couple of the Numrich de-rusted mags? I'd rather get those than pay $67 for two of them off eBay.Thanks.

I think the decision is yours to make. Just decide when you want more.

Well, I have a friend that deals in magazines and even he is only able to get them for around $25 each wholesale, so in the end, I'm not sure if it would be worth the questionable waiting time for saving ~$20.

Good point. When I said 4, I really meant 8 or 9 lol, but 4 minimum. AIM had them for $20 each earlier last year, and was hoping for those kind of prices again when (and if) another shipment arrived. I ended up purchasing 2 off GB for $51/shipped which I'm content with for the time being. If more happen to arrive at a good price, I'll load up.

There's still a few left from one seller on GB if anyone is interested. From what I could find, he was the only seller that had them priced well. I missed his ads when I scanned all the listings a few days ago.

I bought my last four magazines at local gun shows within the last year (+/-). Three were Russian mags with the 'hump'. All were in pretty great shape, and the most I paid for any one of them was $27.

Geez Louise, are they going for that much? I've got a couple of paper bundles of them that I bought about ten years ago when I bought my East German Mak, I think maybe 8 magazines per bundle. Think I paid around $20 per bundle from Northridge.

I've gotten three in the past year and half at gun shows. 2 bulgarians for $25 and an EG for $30.

Theyre out there. And with all the recent bulgarian imports they should be too hard to find if ya keep yer eyes peeled.

Hi. It sort of looks like the Bulgarians have completed the transition to the ARCUS are are cleaning out the bins of Makarov stuff. WQe may see more magazines because of this. Let's hope so! ABTOMAT

I picked up one at a show this past weekend for $15, could not pass it up for that price.

I bought 4 of the derusted mags from numrich and had them cerakoted locally. Really only saved about $5 each but they're in better shape than some of the surplus mags I've seen for sale lately.

That's an excellent price. I may pick up a few more of the ones off GB for about $25 shipped. At $15 I'd buy 10 minimum!
