    Default Bulgaria Arsenal Makarov ?

Pick up this Bulgaria Arsenal. The slide is different from other Makarov I have. Can anyone tell me about it ?

This is a commerical Bulgarian Makarov. Only real difference is these were made for the civilian market. Congrats on your purchase.

    Beautiful Pistolet.

It bugs me they can't/didn't put ((10)) on these. Would've been a perfect match for a SAM7 or SLR107.

I see what you mean about the slide. The safety lever also appears to be a bit 'simplified' when compared to the usual safeties you see.

What is the two-digit number between the AE and the other four digits of the serial number? You can decipher the year of production from those digits.

I am guessing here that the 'straight taper' on the bottom of the slide (and the simplified safety shape) just might be a late production shortcut.

My 1996-built arsenal, which is marked precisely like yours, has the normal curved contour in that area.

I'm not sure if it's me or the photo's. The slide is not like any that I've seen. Could it have been ground off? Also the safety lever looks odd, small. I keep bouncing between this oneAttachment 1988689

Two digit number is 35. So should made this 1995.

The bottom and back of the slide do look like it was ground off.

Oh wow..Now that is really weird. Didn't even notice at first glance. Wonder what the deal was here.. Have you tried asking the person you bought it from?

I got her from a LGS. They said she was from C.A.I. Did need to clear a lot thick grease off.

I try not to lose my hat while trying to keep up with Bulgies of the 90s. They produced circle 10s, Arsenal branded commercial and Miltex Special Edition variants. Contour slides, straight butt slides, round trigger guards, squared off trigger guards, blued finished, bright nickle, satin nickle, combinations of bright/satin and some parkerized. You have one of those variants.
