I have this duplicate 1945 Tula that I'm planning to sell, but wondering about the set of numbers on the barrel, it seems like they dont show up that often. It also has a strange looking M1 stamp on the frame that I don't recall seeing before.
M1 is a refurb mark, not original. I don't think the numbers on the sight base are original either. Izhevsk 1945s are marked there, but not with numbers. Tula 1945s are relatively uncommon as the war was closing down and most production was pushed to Izhevsk.
Joe
Ok Thanks Joe,I recall seeing somewhere before that a 45 date Tula was somewhat scarce.I have priced it $325.I would keep it ,but I have one that looks original unissued.
Here is my 45 date Tula Joe, unfortunately after looking closer I believe it has been refurbished, although extremely lightly. All the stamps have the distortion remaining except for the arsenal stamp is what fooled me.Still well worth $125 I think.
