Default Any progress on the meaning of XO 48 stamp?

I could not find any recent posts on the barrel shank XO stamped 91/30s that turn up from time to time. I have read several 2014 posts that indicate it's unknown origin. Any update? Found an older import (no billboard) refurbed 1942 Izhevsk marked XO 48 below the serial number. Thanks!

Years ago over, on the Surplus Rifle Forum a poster with the nic of "Def" from Volograd said, " one theory is that "XO" is a XabkoBCK(*)(*) Okpyr = Kharkov District.

(*) = the backwards "N" looking Cyrillic letter.

I think I found that post, Kharkov being Ukraine region, with MO maybe being Moscow region.....The XO 46,47,48 stamps don't seem the same thing as the MO stamps which sometimes have multiple year dates. Was just wondering if anything new had surfaced.
