Default Spanish Model 1895 Cavalry Carbine 1894 dated Crest

Was just reading John Wall's appendix in Mauser Military Rifles of the World. At the time, John
said "To date, only two of these early Army carbines have been observed. Did he mean those
that he had personally seen or all that were reported?

He was talking about the 1894 receiver crest and not the 1896 dated Loewe. I don't believe
he mentioned the serial number letter prefix on those.

    I have a 1896 dated example but don't recall seeing a 1894 dated example.

Is there any new information on these since the 2006 publication date?

    Anyone have pictures?

By "have been observed", John would have meant all of which he was aware (some seen and/or some reliably reported).
Every post I make is made with a request for corrections. I'm here to learn.
