Default 1960 EG circle and square stamp

Is it unusual for the slide to have this stamp in front of the serial number? It is right above the one on the frame, so you see two circle in a square stamps.

I've owned several E.G. Makarovs and have never seen markings like that on the slide. Can you post pics of it?

It's a Tom Jones Makarov. "It's not unusual . . . . . ." Placement might be odd, but I've seen/owned one that had it there, may still have it.

O.K. Thanks I will post some pics. The K100 and circle and square stamps are really good. My girl friend was asking about it and I casually replied, "What's new pussy cat?"

    Mine is the same.

I believe it is just placement. I've seen that stamp at the tail end of slide under the safety decocker as well. That and the boxed Kxx stamps are as close as any 'DDR' stamps you'll see.

Here is my 1960 with "C" grips imported by Century. The dot circle is way towards the end of the frame and all placements look just like martinbanners above. The K100 stamp is very clear on this one.

Here is a pic showing the "C" grips. These will compliment my grip collection.

    Hello!
Here my mint 60 with the same markings. Looks like many 60s have this double circle-square markings... Fausto

That is unusual to me; I must have had at least 5 E.G. Maks and never saw that before. Maks never cease to surprise!

I think it was a transitional thing of the circa 1960 EGs.

Well, that's not exactly a very big sample.

I have one with the circle in square before the serial number. There is no K100 on the frame but there is a K100 stamped inside the slide.
