Default 1pn58, does it emit IR or use IR

Does the 1pn58 scope emit any IR? Does it violate california PC 468 code. Heres the link to the penal code

The 1PN58 is a gen 1 passive starlight scope. It does not have an IR emmiter.

";nor shall this section prohibit the use or possession of such sniperscope when used solely for scientific research or educational purposes." Just begin a book on Infrareds, problem solved. Looks like you can not have an infrared light source "and" an electronic scope. Welcome to California!

"Scientific research and educational purposes," wonderfully vague terms - the Japanese kill about 400 whales a year for "scientific research and educational purposes." Then they sell the meat.

We just need to create the "Greater California Wild Boar and Blacktail Deer Study Foundation, A Consortium For Scientific Research and Analysis Of Nocturnal Herd Behavior" where we shoot tons of boar and deer at night with night vision scopes, weigh, photograph and measure them and attempt to publish the results in scientific journals (they don't have to actually publish it.). Then we eat 'em.

We could mount the heads "for educational purposes" and take the whole thing off our taxes, maybe even get an ecological research grant for, say $15 million bucks and another to study the impact of global warming on wild boar and deer populations, good for another for another $20 million.

We also need a $8 million headquarters in Pebble Beach for our meetings, a bunch of new Land Rovers, plus catering every quarter and lots of international travel for our research.....

That's how Kalifornia does whatever it wants on other people's money!
