    Default Maxim Belt Question

I have a Maxim cloth belt with brass fittings. I think it is 8mm because if functions flawlessly in my MG08/15. There is only one mark on one of the brass starter strips. Can someone tell me from which country the belt comes? Thanks.

Every problem can be solved through the proper application of explosives, duct tape, teflon, WD-40, or any combo of the aforementioned items.

A gun is like a parachute. If you need one and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again!

Why is it that 46% of the population which pay NO taxes, complain that those who do pay taxes, are not paying their fair share?

Wow, really unusual belt! And in great shape, too!

The Tabs are not your usual Vickers/Maxim type tabs, as these have an enlarged end for the forward eyelet.
The stamp is a "relief" stamp, also unusual for a V-M belt, as is the design...But it could be Siamese characters...they had Vickers in 8x52R ( Siam Mauser) T66 (1923) cartridge before WW II. ( and Possibly DWM Maxims in T45 Cartridge 8x50R Siam)

Jean-Francois Lefevre ( France) may be able to enlighten you. He specialises in Feed belts and strips etc.

    Doc,

Thanks. I was unaware that Siam had Maxim type machine guns. The belt was a gift from an individual I let shoot my MG08/15. He said he had it and had no use for it and thought I could put it to good use.

    Hello,

Before further commenting that most interesting belt, my first trivial question would be to check if the second starter tab has any marking ?
This belt shows all typical features of Vickers Ltd belt for export machine guns, but these always have markings on at least one starter tab with caliber designation and belt capacity.
I will prepare some pics of the Siamese Vickers export belt.

    Cheers,

The only mark on the starter tab is the one pictured. There is no markings on the opposite side of then tab. Both starter tabs have the same pictured mark with the other side blank. There are no other marks on the belt. There are no ink marks on the cloth portion either. Hope this helps.
