    frown Gary Cunningham has passed.

Saw this on another forum. He was a wealth of knowledge for US bayonets. Prayers to his family and friends.

    This is indeed sad news.
I was in contact with Gary off and on some years ago concerning US M8 scabbards.
I had some variants that he wanted for his reference collection.
I also supplied him with a few bayonets needed to fill gaps in his collection.
He had studied a great many details about the manufacture and development of US bayonets.
I often refer to his "Bayonet Points" articles.

I never had the pleasure to meet him in person, but he was always willing to share his knowledge and listen to my questions.

The bayonet cannot be abolished for the reason, if for no other, that it is the sole and exclusive embodiment of that willpower which, alone, both in war and everyday life, attains its object.—General M. I. Dragomirov
