I have this Styer M95 short rifle and I was hoping someone with a little more experience than me could help with. It has an Austrian acceptance date of 1908. Not a cut down infantry rifle. Original 8x50mmR chamber. Non Bulg.rework. 5'' between the nose cap and barrel bands, bottom sling swivels. Rear sight in Schritt. Front sight replaced with band. A Yugoslavian Elm handguard for top wood. It was my impression that anything that made it to Serb/Yugo would have been rechambered by this time. Any thoughts? I have more pics if needed.
I'm not sure where to look for Serb proofs but there are none on the outside of the stock. Everything on the steel seems Austrian. I'm curious what Mauser handguard in elm has a small sight cutout. Not an M48 for sure. View attachment 2156594
