Default France has gone mad -- WW I commemorations

France was almost bled to death during WW I.
If ever you travel in France, have a look at the monuments that can be found in every French village, you will find the list of the soldiers killed. It is always a very long one.

There are some reenactors that gather to the monuments and there was a group that had been doing this for more than 25 years in the Eparges region. This year the Prefet (governor appointed by french governement) of the Marne département banned all firearms even dewat or fake for so called "safety reasons".

As a reaction the group arrived in full 1914-1915 uniform armed with BROOMS !!!

Just a few hours later a terrorist is attacking policemen with an full auto weapon on the Champs Elysées ... for political correctness reasons I will not try to guess for what reasons he attacked them.

    France has gone mad.

Its a shame European nations have forgotten both their history with firearms and the values of an armed populace. A secular nation like France that was invaded by a powerful neighbor several times and relied on dedicated, armed, civilian resistance fighters, to help liberate their nation would value the peoples armament more.

This may just kill the plans for 100th Anniversary of the end of La Grande Guerre march in Paris on November 11th, 2018. I know the guys were looking forward to this as was I, I was planning on doing this with them.

France is heading to madness again. The same madness that killed a generation of men in 1914 - 1918 and enslaved a continent and world in socialism.

I am sorry your country has gone mad,,

I was in London with the wife almost 10 yrs ago,
we did a few day trips to the country side and noticed in every Church there was a big statue or some type of monument dedicated to those that died in WWI
what's so funny about peace love and understanding?

Past year the french antique sales market has just about died. Think I'm going to re chamber a couple 1873's to 45 auto rim as they sell to the Canadians.

Knightm16 - "Eh socialism did a lot of good for Europe." Really, been to Greece, Spain, Italy, Sweden lately? I have, not working. Single payer Government health care is fine, just don't get sick! Why do you think anyone with $$ comes to the U.S. for treatment!

Well they don't lol. France, sweden, germany, and the UK all have amazing medical programs that are provided via a single payer system. The issues Europe is facing today is based more around immigration and the legacy of colonialism on the middle east. Spain and Greece have economic issues due to not working enough. France gives a lot of time off but they are doing well because the French are some of the most productive workers in Europe. Exceeding Americans on a daily basis by 30%! Spain and Greece are not.

Sweden's main issues is that its becoming hyper socialist and losing some of what capitalism adds in strength.

It is an insult to everyone, both veterans and society at large,to ban rifles at such events.....maybe the brooms are some sort of protest at this nonsense.
