Picked up that $950 SVT-40 with bayonet. Very nice rifle overall with a VG+ bore and 95% metal finish. Very deep blue, really well done for a refurb in my opinion. Only part that isn't 'matching' is the magazine, which I hear is quite normal. AVT-40 stock is nice as well, really chunky feel to it which I like. I think I did well for the price, the bayonet was a nice bonus as well. Can't wait to get her out on the range, internals all look almost new!
Great price, but the stock is a little too shiny for my taste...I would be seeking to get that finish off if were it mine..some folks need to sand and polish military rifles and I guess they can if they like, but me I like them original or as close as can be achieved.
Yea i know, like i said im saving up now my other gun sells soon then i should have enough. I'm planning on going to the gun show in Atlanta on the 19th of june to hopefully find one. That and i did hit up a lot of gun shops, pawnshops, and surplus stores yesterday.
Can anyone tell me why the bolt cover on my SVT 40 moves forward a 1/8" to a 1/4" when I shoot it? When it does that the bolt gets stuck under it and will not fire. Any fixes?
I thought there is only one way to install it. Advice?
