    picture #14 "two groups of American servicemen..." shirtless man on left with low quarter shoes rather than boondockers appears to be McClure Brewer (1917-1999) my uncle, joined USMC Dec. 1937 retired USMC 1960, China, Guadalcanal, Tarawa, etc., Chosin Reservoir.

    Favorite quote from him: "that 'rifleman first' is B.S., if a marine is to survive he better be a good thief"
