I recently saw this 1939 Finn captured M38 pop up on a Facebook group asking about value. So naturally i showed mine off since i was tagged on the thread. Thats when i noticed that the serials were fairly close. Just a few hundred away from each other. It made me wonder if perhaps these two rifles could have served in the same Russian unit that was overtaken and had their weapons captured. This is the kind of stuff with collecting these rifles that really excites me. What to y'all think about it?

I think it's especially interesting that one retains the hammer & sickle while the other was scrubbed at some point. Also the FB one looks like it may have had barrel swapped onto a different receiver. Cool!
I have seen several 1941 M38s in the KA prefix that are Finn captured. And one in the KB. There is a chance that these were captured in transit to be used?

Izhevsk K* prefix SVT-40's are one of the most common Finn captured SVT's. They were produced in August, and seems that just after production they were sent to the front line
Oh, I thought it looked like they were ИМ and ЧМ. Maybe the way the light was hitting the first letter on the lower pic.
