    Default Fairly nice m/30 sling – Friitala Sk.Y. 32

Got this one not much time ago. The sling is in fairly good condition having only two stitches of the leather loop missing. The Friitala maker's mark, the Sk.Y. 32 property mark and the ≡S≡ acceptance mark are all easily readable. The leather has absorbed a lot of goo over the years and it is now fairly dark and somewhat greasy.

The sling came with one original, not butchered, m/30 dog collar. Unfortunately I cannot ID the manufacturer. The little details in structure would give this away if only there was a complete unmessed m/30 sling out there for reference, one whose dog collars weren't ever taken away! Too bad these mix up so easily.

By this Sk.Y. 32 sling I finally have at least some kind of sample of all the factory-made m/30 slings with cast oval buckles, officially ordered by the Sk.Y. from the Finnish leather workshops. There are different looking ones out there too, but as far as I know, they are either commercal or made by civilguardsmen using two one piece slings and cutting them to correct length.

Production totals can be found on the supply contracts 7/31, 6/1932 and 7/1935.

Definitely nice. And that's some old leather to still look that decent.
