OK; you asked for it. Give me a day or two...
This might be worth making into yet another sticky with somebody charged with editing and submission standards (by which I mean standard form of entry). Thus speaketh a former librarian...:)

A separate listing of websites might also be useful...

This is the book I wrote about "Small Arms usde during the War of Resistance" in China between 1937 and 1945 in China. It is not entirely dedicated to Mauser but as you know, China used a lot of Mauser so it covers 1907, FN, VZ, ZZS, etc. Focus on Chinese produced pieces and arsenal history.
Chap1: War Time Ordnance Industry
Chap2: Pistol
Chap3: Rifle
Chap4: Light Machine Gun
Chap5: Heavy Machine Gun
Chap6: Other Weapons
Chap7: Overview of Japanese Weapon
Appendix 1: Reference
Appendix 2: Idioms
Appendix 3: Arsenal Names & Locations
Appendix 4: Arms List of 1934
Appendix 5: Chinese Arms by Japanese Intelligence
Appendix 6: Chinese Ordnance Marking Conventions
217 pages in total, over 500 color, B/W photos & charts, including
quite a bit of historical photos that were never published before.

Kriegsmodell by Michael Steves and Bruce Karem

Set a new standard on K98k books, nothing even close, and I don't know how it could be improved, except for Vols. 1 and 2 (early war and midwar, respectively), which will be coming out. It's a superlative work and I collect reference books more than the things they reference. The first edition will be sold out soon and when the 2nd and 3rd volumes come out there will be folks scrambling for Vol. 1, which will likely be out of print. Negotiations are in place to publish Kriegsmodell in Germany.
Cheers,
HB
