Behaviorally we, this older generation or maybe just me! :tisk:
had this ideology I'll try to explain:
older people told the most interesting stories i think- with a lots of facts. with folktale like embellishment!
thus letting them be the smartest, wises, best at--- fixing most mistakes in the story-- as though "they had" all the answers figured as it was actually unfolding! but mostly just hind sight of what should have been done...... add after the facts unfolded.
but this taught our generation MUCH:
:thumbsup:that hard work pays off,
don't be late,
work the hardest the smartest.
unions, church, school teachers family were INFLUENCES with all the attributes of our fathers grandfathers, mothers directions- :sorry:
these concept supported reinforced by news, TV/radio, by books, movies, actions of others reflecting this higher ethical standard example. (
everything mostly bad was not shown, or talked about in front of the children. we were keep in the dark unless we had a wild neighbor, uncle or aunt that didn't act right in front of kids.)
THIS WAS THE AMERICAN DREAM!
it all pays off in the end most of the time they would preach.:sorry:
and i think they were right to most extents. but i i was the one that thought out of the box didn't have this age (old) of late understanding.
but seeing what replaced old values ( even though it was mostly a feeling of correctness) anger- or indifference- pride less nature- and mistrust of the government philosophy.
with 21 st century twist that might make it possible to lived to see the change that caused all this break down.
with
no family ideology seen, to hang on to or asp-air.
so many maturational inconsistencies are positively reinforced by peers with about the same lack of guidance, values shown by the gang etc.
we had all the appeared support and family work security----in the 1960's-1970's all this changed-- we rejected all or most or some of it.
the children now in the work force are differently wired thinking we are indispensable
we believed in UNIONS, fair treatment on the job, wages higher than the world average. but we thought we had to urn it.
we priced ourselves out of work force competition with the new changes in the world.
nations steeped in poverty are expected to industrialize fast, work cheep with out the restraints of fair labor, clean water / air, benefits, retirements.
the lose of USA jobs compounded with more trained labor forces over sea available cheaper still.---------
leaves us with believing in how it was, and that was good days gone by! still having that taste in our mouths the hunger to make that money! have pride in our work, country, family security.
surly i am an idealist with memories and a smile to my face. 33 years later at the same job, 5 more years before that working hard.
what was wrong with that dream when everyone made money? from the worker to management, unions to owner, banks, local- federal governments. we didn't adapt or include the world, so were becoming extinct
because we taught the world that and they wanted that too.<><dk
