Some time ago I started a database about the Mosin Nagant sniper rifle, with the purpose to
to determine what cyrillic letter prefixes were assigned.

Now I have several serial numbers of known genuine snipers, ex-snipers, restored ex-sniper etc.
I want to continue this research and to further his study your help and input is appreciated.

The information being gathered is only for known genuine snipers, in either ex-sniper, restored ex-sniper, or original unrestored configuration.
Please do not include "fake" snipers.

The informations I need are:

-What kind of sniper rifle is. (PE top mount, PEM side rail, PU)

-Production year of rifle

-Arsenal that made the rifle

-Rifle serial number (with all prefixes)

-Scope number or numbers on the barrel shank if available.

-Peculiarity of the rifle ( es. DDR marked,double/triple dated MO, Finn capture, Polish reworked rifle etc.)

Pics are welcome. If you can't take some pics, there's no problem.

No records are kept linking names to arms.

You can send me a PM trough gunboards.com or you can send me an email at:
alb_deka@yahoo.it

Yor help is very appreciated.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Warmest regards.

alb, i'm about to go out of town but i will try to post the info on my 1944 izhevsk and 1943 tula. if you want info on snipers of different origin i can post the info on my 1953 and 1954 m52 and my vz54. i would personally like to see a database for the m52's and vz54's if you are doing those as i find them most interesting.

n10sivern,
Thanks again!

Yes, I'm doing some researches about hungarian 91/30 sniper rifles and czech vz54 also. ( and all the Mosin Nagant sniper rifles, such the various finn models, the rare zg 51-91-30 (obtained from Soviet 91/30 sniper rifles), the recent vz 54/90 etc...)

The Hungarian m52 used only one prefix, "BC", but I found some intresting differences between the serial number sequence. So please, send me your numbers.
Also I found some very intresting new features on these beatiful Hungarian made sniper rifles...but this is another story that I'll post on this forum one day....

Also the vz54 SN is welcome!!!!

Warmest regards.
