I looked throughout the forum for the correct place to put this and hope this is the correct area of the forum,if not I apologize. The same neighbor friend that brought his K98 and type 99 to my house to see what they were also set this on my counter. There is very limited information on the rifle...it looks to be a 22 cal. and possibly a youth model.

HM Quackenbush,Herkimer NY USA
Pat in US & ENG Feb 23 86
and BelG 15 80 or 86

Can anyone tell me what it is aside from the obvious. What was it called, history etc?
I have more pics but at the moment,am having trouble getting them under 300kb .
The third pic has 2 rifles...the item in question is the top rifle.

Queckenbush was a maker of a cheap "boys rifle", and several air guns.
They were made from 1893-1920 and are not safe to shot with modern .22 ammo.
The rifle was chambered in .22 Short or .22 Long, but NOT .22 LR.

Barrel length was 18", weight about 4.5 pounds, with metal parts nickel plated.
The breech swings to the side for loading.

These have collectors value.
One in Good condition is worth around $200 to $300 or so.

There was also a Junior Safety Rifle with a wire stock, probably intended to be used as a boys bicycle rifle.

Interesting information. I found a difference in the mfg data though. Made from 1886-1922 and came in 18" and 22" bbl lengths. This particular model is a safety rifle. This is quite an odd rifle . Very much apreciated,Jody
