  1. Hello Zotique,

Sorry being so late with a reply.

I have settled for the 140 grain "Barnes Triple Shock" bullets, in front of 49 grains of IMR 4350, which give me fine accuracy and superior killing powers on deer. Would not be affraid to use this load on elk or moose either.

I havde also shot Speer 145 grain and Hornady 120 grain bullets, which also gave me a fine accuracy. However, when shooting the 175 grain Remington factory bullets, the bullet landed all over the place, with many of the bullet landing sideways "keyholing", due to the slower rifling, which was unable to stabilize these longer bullets.

    Good luck

    A friend just gave me a 1955 HVA 4100 in 7x57.

He says it is really finicky about what it shoots.

He said it has a 1-14 twist and a very long throat and needs to have the bullets loaded "hanging by their toenails."

I am wondering what works in yours?

    Thank you.
