    Great thread. Some things I noticed.....original pic, m91/30 rifle has high m91 front sight. 5th pic down, guy with "eyebrows" has pem scope in pe mount. Last pic, What a hat!

    Tula switched the to globe shape front sight hood only in 1935, earier all rfiles (and even some early 1935 rifles) were issued with so called "transitional" sight without hood.
    So it is pre 1935 (or early 1935) rifle
