Was picking up something for wifey in town and had a few extra minutes and thought I would poke my head in at a local pawn that I scrounge around in weekly to see what they had and the last rifle on the wrack was this critter. I knew it was a shortie and the color of the sling drew my attention. Was taken in yesterday morning about 30 min before I showed up. Has some arsenal repairs and I have not broken it down but it appears to be matching. Bore is clean and strong. 190 cash out the door. It does pay to build relationships locally.

Very nice! You did well. Congrats!

Nice score. Deals are still out there, and thankfully the panic hasn't hurt C&R guns too much that finds are still there. Truth be told with the economic hardships, i feel we will be seeing a lot of milsurps come up for sale at the LGS and pawn shops this year. Sad to know why some of these guns are finding their way back out of their safes, but glad that good new homes are ready and waiting to give them some new attention.

That's a nice carbine "bmont"! Sometimes one got lucky and there was something other than the green sling in the Century box. Good for you.

    Very happy for you.

It pays to check out pawn shops once in a while.

Very nice looking m44, Brian, and a good reminder to me to get back into a few of the local pawn shops and look around in the near future. Im not very diligent about that!

Yeah, that is an excellent price for an M44 these days. Shoot it in good health!
